Welcome to The Cribbage Board Factory®! This is a factory
like no other. It exists in the heart,
mind and hands of one man, Maliseet artist Dan Bell.
He began making banjo-shaped cribbage boards
of his own design almost two decades ago. They have proven to be popular at craft
fairs and have been
sold
by a few local merchants. Choose from classic or newer styles without a trip to Northern Maine!
Locally milled white cedar is planed, cut, routed, and drilled.
The design is burned on, and sometimes colored. Instead of tuning heads, the neck holds three light pegs
and three
dark pegs. Brass eyelets brighten the pegs' journey around the board, every fifth one is painted
red. Hanging hardware is included to display the board on the wall until you want to play.
The boards are approximately 30 inches long and 10 inches wide, and stand on wooden "button" feet.
Six coats of polyurethane give the boards a polished look and will protect the wood for years to come.
Dan's banjo and squared boards are only $45.00 (US funds) postpaid, in the US and Canada.

Dan's mother picked potatoes in New Sweden, Maine in the 1940's.
Dan used a picture of her as the basis for this board. These boards
have proven quite popular at the area's largest farm stand each summer! |
